This week: Learning to Listen to the Spirit - Walking in the Spirit
Galatians 5
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whateveryou want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen....6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. (Heb 11:1, 6).
It is amazing how simple this can be when it comes to relationship with God. There is so much goop, philosophy, analysis, paralysis, theology, and the sort trying to analyze to death the state of the church. There is denominationalism, house churches, mission movements, new philosophical paradigms on how to "do church" and the list is endless. Now most of the time this can be stimulating and numerous ideas surface that can be very helpful. On the other hand the overwhelming magnitude of prognostications is endless. I am reminded of two key ideas that flow out of the pages of Scripture, namely the book of Ecclesiastes and both in the last chapter:
11 The words of wise men are like goads, and masters of these collections are like well-driven nails; they are given by one Shepherd.
12 But beyond this, my son, be warned: the writing of many books is endless, and excessive devotion to books is wearying to the body. (Ecc 12:11-12 NAS)
Josh & Ashley McGuire have considered Oak Grove Church (OGC) their home since childhood and have many friends and family here. The two of them met at OGC and were married 3 years ago.
Josh first made a decision to follow Jesus when he was 12 years old at Bill Rice Ranch in TN — but he feels that he made the decision more out of fear than anything else. It wasn't until he joined the Air Force in 2004 that he knew he had to take his faith seriously or he would fall to the pressures of being in the Military. It was during that time he decided to pursue full-time ministry. He graduated from Crown
