| Paul and Sarah Larson |
|
Hi! We are Paul and Sarah Larson and we've been going to Oak Grove Church for about a year now and recently decided to become members.
Sarah: We met in 1994 when we were Juniors in High School. We met at church when Paul's family began attending my family's church. My mom was the person who introduced us. I'm pretty sure I asked him out first. And, I did most of the driving for our dates because I had a truck and he'd have to borrow his parent's station wagon. Good times! We've been married 11 years and have 3 sons. Joel is 8 years old, Jordan is 6 and Shaun is 3.
Paul: I was born and raised in a Christian home and, at the age of five, I'm told, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and I was baptized soon after. I also went to a Christian school. Although I was talking "Christian" and acting "Christian," I knew in my heart that I wasn't - it was more of an act than a personal relationship with a living God. At the age of 13, I was listening to a pastor and realized that I did not want to be eternally separated from Jesus Christ. That night I made the decision to follow Jesus and shortly after I was baptized again.
Sarah: I was 4 years old and one evening after church I was upstairs in my room and I felt the Lord tugging on my heart and I wanted to become a Christian. So, I asked my mom to help me and I prayed and asked the Lord to come into my life. Then, I was baptized when I was about 8 years old. My favorite verse now is Matthew 6:34 which says: "Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." It is a great verse that I cling to - leaving each day in God's hands, letting him help me through every circumstance. |
