Reunion

Barb arrived home yesterday!! and it was fun to have my bride return home. She looked wonderful and it is nice to have a reunion having been gone for so long; Barb left January 7 and came back Feb 2nd, almost four weeks. So it was fun to greet her at the airport and give her the roses that I went out and bought her. I have developed a “practice or habit” over the years that when I give Barb roses it almost always three of them. The three is a reminder of the two of us but the third is always a reminder that the Lord is the third person of our marriage and that He is, in almost every way, the most important person in our relationship.

Of course I try to add some romantic elements to the “rose” giving ceremony when I greeted Barb and it always reminds me of her beauty, her creativity and love of life. I told several people that when Barb disappears so does all the enthusiasm, creativity, and zeal for life. She does add a whole bunch of fun to the relationship when she is around; never a dull moment.

In my personal growth adventure I am cultivating a servant’s heart and attitude to life. Trust me; the purchase of roses is not because I am a romantic, far from it. But those little activities of doing things for others, even family flow from the prodding of the Spirit to creatively serve my family. As nice as that may sound there is lots of work to do for sure.

So it is fun to have Barb home and as we prepare to take off this weekend for a quick week vacation geared at our 25 Anniversary (this year) we are looking forward to connecting and seeking the Lord on lots of stuff for the days ahead.
