We found out yesterday that Barb secured a new job with the school district. She will be a language specialist in one of the schools so we are very grateful for how that unfolded and so soon for her in an economy that does not have a propensity to dropping jobs in your lap. It is an interesting thing though - in some ways this does not surprise me. For Barb there are three things she loves to do - work, kids and Spanish. So when she finds an opportunity to step into a role like that there are few things that she gets more excited about. For Barb, these moments seem to surface, she did the same thing when she was in Oregon; she volunteered for some time and worked with the Hispanic group that was in the school and when a spot came open at the school to fill that need, she was hired by the school to make that happen.
On the other hand I realize that there are others that have been out of work for ages and have not been able to secure anything yet. And yet God makes provision in those times too, it is not always in the manner we would like it but God does have his way of providing. It is an extraordinary thing to consider the movement of God in the real events of our lives. God takes us through different journeys that sometimes make sense and other times they do not make any sense at all. I am more convinced then ever, for those who love God that all things do work together for good to those who love Him (I always think it is interesting that this passage talks about those who “love God” not those who “believe in God”. In any event we are excited about His timing in our lives and want to honor Him for something that seems quite remarkable at this point.
