Faith That Acts

Faith That Acts
May 12th, 2026
James 2:14-17
When Faith Shows Up
Most people don’t struggle with knowing what matters.
They struggle with acting on it.
We see needs.
We feel something.
We even intend to respond.
But intention isn’t transformation.
James puts it plainly:
“Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”
That’s not a call to earn salvation.
It’s a call to reveal it.
Real faith moves.
Not perfectly.
Not dramatically every time.
But tangibly.
A selfless friend doesn’t just feel compassion—they follow through.
Because love that never moves…
is love that never lands.
This Week
- Identify one need you’ve noticed but haven’t acted on
- Take one simple, concrete step toward meeting it
- Don’t overcomplicate it—just move
Key Insight
Faith becomes visible when compassion becomes action.
Questions to Consider
- Where have you sensed a need but hesitated to respond?
- What tends to hold you back from taking action?
- How do you discern when to step in and help?
- What is one practical step you can take this week?
Identity Statement
Because Christ met our deepest need through action, we become people whose faith is visible in how we serve others.
Kingdom Platform Application: Meeting a Real Need
We often wait for big opportunities.
But Kingdom impact usually starts with what’s already in front of you.
Kingdom Platform Move:
Turn awareness into action.
Where this plays out:
- Workplace →
Help a struggling coworker without being asked - Neighborhood →
Provide a meal, childcare help, or practical support - School / Activities →
Step in where there’s a visible gap
Practical Example:
You notice a single parent overwhelmed—so you organize a simple meal train or offer consistent help.
Why it matters:
Needs are not interruptions; they are invitations.
Your platform becomes a place where faith becomes visible.
In His grace,
Pastor Brad.
