Sent With Peace and Presence

Scripture: John 20:19–23 Christ sends His people with His peace, His presence, and His Spirit.

Imagine This…

Imagine a team gathering before walking into a difficult assignment.

They do not gather because the assignment is easy. They gather to remember who they are, why they are going, and who goes with them.

Communion does something similar for the church.

We come to the table not to escape the mission, but to be renewed for it.

What Is There to Learn?

John 20 shows Jesus forming a sent people. He enters their fear, speaks peace, shows His wounds, and sends them into the world.

     
  1. Peace Comes Before Sending.
    Jesus does not send His people from anxiety or guilt. He sends them from the peace He gives.

  2. Presence Gives Courage.
    The risen Christ stands among His people. We are never sent alone.
    3.  
  3. The Table Renews Our Mission Together.
    Communion reminds us that we belong to Christ and to one another. We are not isolated witnesses. We are a sent family.

Bold Steps of Faith

As you come to the table, ask God to renew your sense of calling.

     
  • Where is Jesus sending you right now?
    •  
  • What relationship has He entrusted to you?
    •  
  • Who are you praying for by name?
    •  
  • Where do you need His peace before you take the next step?

Communion reminds us that the One who gave Himself for us now sends us to embody His hope.

Prayer

“Christ, renew me with Your peace and presence. Send me with Your people to carry Your hope into the places You have entrusted to us.”
